Strengthening Families for the Future

Strengthening Families for the Future is a 10-week prevention program for families with children between the ages of 7-11. This program utilizes strategies to help prevent children from developing problems with alcohol, other drugs and gambling or mental health problems. Families share a meal together, meet with other parents and children to learn various skills and then practice these skills in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

Who is it for?

Children ages 7-11 and their parents or guardians who may have experiences substance use or misuse issues in the past.

When and where is it offered?

This program is offered alternately between Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury.

Does the program require a referral?

Anyone can self refer.
