Smoking Cessation Groups

These 10 week groups are designed to help people who are thinking of or trying to stop using tobacco. The program provides current information about nicotine addiction and incorporates education, quitting tools and support to help people on their journey to a smoke free life. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (Patches, Gum, Lozenges, Nicorette Inhaler and Quick Mist) and non-nicotine prescription medication, will be offered free of charge to those who take part in the weekly group sessions. The program is interactive, engaging and offers coping skills for stopping smoking. The program helps smokers identify relapse triggers, offers solution focused strategies, and promotes the use of supports when stopping smoking.

For anyone who uses tobacco, the program is designed to help people who are thinking of or trying to stop using tobacco.

When and where is it offered?

This program is offered regularly in Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury and rotates in a variety of communities throughout the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond and Inverness.

Does the program require a referral?

Referrals can be made by anyone considering a smoke-free future.
